The Gospel Music Opry, Inc. is the product of a community organization in Chillicothe, Ohio called The Southern Hills Entertainment Corporation. Our organization has applied for a non-profit 501-c-3 status with state and
federal authorities. The Southern Hills Entertainment Corporation has a Board of Directors made up of eighteen community, civic, professional and executive members that have a unique vision to bring positive high quality entertainment to the First Capital District of our community.
We believe these efforts will be beneficial to spark travel & tourism business, motivate re-vitalization efforts within this arena and endeavor to bring a community of government, civic, corporate business, churches and individuals within our community together for a common goal. That goal is to introduce many people from within and outside of this community to a great place to visit…Chillicothe,Ohio..Ohio’s Historical First Capital.
We will endeavor to work with community, corporate business, hotels, restaurants, retail shopping and historical landmarks and travel destinations within our community to drive a travel and tourism draw to this historical city. We live in a community with a rich historical heritage that has many important attractions that the majority of the public has little familiarity with. Destinations like The Majestic Theatre, Adena Mansion, The Tecumseh Outdoor Drama, The Hopewell Cultural National Historical Park, The Serpent Mound, The James M. Thomas Telephone Museum, The Lucy Webb Hayes Heritage Center, The Ross County Heritage Center, The Ross County Fair, The Pump House Center For The Arts, Yoctangee Park, Paint Creek State Park, Great Seal State Park, Scioto Trail State Park, Tar Hollow State Park and now The Gospel Music Opry just to name a few.
