The great composer Johann Sebastian Bach once said “music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul.” When it was time for Mercy’s Mark to record their latest project, Garry Jones knew exactly what direction he wanted to take for the recording and what message he wanted to convey. The group’s strongest desire was to continue to present the passion to share God’s mercy in this new recording that had been birthed when Mercy’s Mark formed in 2003.
Mercy’s Mark comes to the gospel music world with a tremendous amount of quality experience including Garry Jones’ extensive and award-winning production and travel experience with the famed Gold City Quartet of Gadsden, Alabama. In the few years since 2003 the distinct sound of Mercy’s Mark has been clearly established. It is a sound deeply rooted in Garry’s 27 years experience in Gospel Music, a sound that garnered Mercy’s Mark with the 2005 Horizon Group of the Year, and a sound borne of a desire to give the highest honor and glory to God. A sound distinctly all their own. Mercy’s Mark has recorded songs penned by such notable songwriters as Kyla Rowland, Ronnie Hinson, Mark Mathis and many others.
